Inhalation Sciences receives new order worth 1.4 MSEK from VITO, the Flemish Institute for Technological Research
(Stockholm, 30 October 2020) One of Europe’s most innovative research organisations, driving new technology worldwide in sustainable health, chemistry, energy and land use, is purchasing PreciseInhale[®], ISAB’s high-precision aerosol R&D system, together with its Particle Size Determination kit and Inhaler Aerosol Generator option for both DPI and /pMDI inhalers. The combined value of the order is 1.4 MSEK.
ISAB’s new customer develops new technology solutions in sustainability across a wide range of research areas. A major one is health – where the company partner with governments and industry to develop new solutions within sustainable environmental health and safety that aim to increase healthy lifespans.
“Since the PreciseInhale® is a flexible system, we can connect it to our air-liquid interface exposure modules, allowing efficient aerosol generation from dry powder, nebulized solution or commercial inhalers,” says Evelien Frijns, aerosol expert at VITO. “We will use this technology as a valuable tool for safety & efficacy testing of pharmaceutical/biotech compounds where often small amounts of costly substances are available”, says Sandra Verstraelen, Senior Researcher at VITO.
“Research organizations can rise or fall on innovation,” says ISAB CEO Manoush Masarrat. “They need to be able to deliver data and results that are more precise and outperform their competitors. So, when a new customer of the caliber and expertise of VITO, clearly leaders in their field, chooses PreciseInhale®, we should be proud. We encourage research groups to get in touch and see the breadth and precision of the findings they can offer their customers when they bring PreciseInhale® inhouse into their labs.”
